From the earliest days, the open trolleys cars were the summertime favorites of the riding public. The motion of the car created a cool breeze and the cars were easy to board. If a thunderstorm blew up, the conductor unfurled the flapping canvas side curtain, and when a passenger reached his stop, he raised the section near his bench.
