Anna Brugh Singer

Anna Brugh Singer outside her Olden, Norway home. Click on the MEDIA ITEMS below for more information

After World War I, the Singers took up full time residence in Olden, Norway. They called their Norwegian home “Dalheim,” which means “Valley Home.” With ample space in the main house and the later addition of a guest house, the home was perfect for Anna’s love of entertaining. To ensure that the best foods graced their table, Anna planned extensive gardens, a greenhouse, and a dairy barn. As in this photograph, Anna is often pictured in her garden. Anna seemed to enjoy spending time outdoors, but with up to 24 servants employed at one time, any gardening she did was undoubtedly a leisure hobby.
