Letter to Bruce Etchison from Jacob Dooijewaard

Anna Singer's friend writes to the Museum director on her behalf. Click on the MEDIA ITEMS below for more information

Laren, May 10th 1961

Dear Mr. Etchison,

As it is for Mrs. Singer very difficult to write, she asked me to thank you very dearly for your kind letter of April 21th. She is glad that the Washington County Museum is doing so well, that it became so well known and is such a great success. She knows also that a big part of this success is your work for which she is very thankful.

We would like very much to see your work and all you have done. To meet Mrs. Hamilton and you again, but this is impossible for the moment.

We will read and study the publications you send us, as also the Director’s report, and we are glad that "The finding of Moses," by Paola Veronese holds the place of honor!

I am glad also for this part of the world. I can tell you that "The Singer Memorial Foundation" is a great success, not only for Holland, but for the whole world. Many people of different countries are coming to see it. It got a high place in Netherland. [sic]

We hope that Mrs. Hamilton is well again and that in the near future, we all will meet again. We send her and you our warmest greetings.

With kindest regards from Mrs. Singer
very sincerely yours
Jaap Dooijewaard
