MARY JANE ROWLEY
"Jerry Mane"
Dramatic Club (2-3-4); Glee Club (3-4); "Pennsycanac," Joke Editor (2-3); "The Quill," Joke Editor; "The Ghost Story"; "The Hoodoo"; "Nearly a Honeymoon"; "Nothing But the Truth"; "Kicked Out of College"; "Pickles"; Declamation Contest.

If worry were the only cause of death,
Then she would live forever.

Jerry Mane illustrates the old saying "By her voice ye shall know her." Indeed more than once Penn Hi teams have been spurred on to victory by Mary Jane's timely encouragement. During her three years at Penn Hi, she has taken a prominent part in all activities.
"It's awful hard to be a girl
And always be dressed up.
I'd rather be a boy, I would,
Or else a 'Yaller' pup."
This is Mary Jane's favorite and when the clubs lack boys, Mary Jane makes an ideal sheik. Look at her eyes, everyone knows that she is a vamp.
She has had many "affaires de coeur" but through them all she remains the unaffected Mary Jane.

ERNEST M. SCHAIDT
"Ernie"
Senior Class President; Dramatic Club (2-3), Vice President (4); Student Manager of Athletics (2-3 4); Hi-Y; French Club (4); "The Romancers"; "The Hoodoo"; "Nearly a Honeymoon"; "Kicked Out of College"; "Pickles"; "The Quill" Photographer.

Actions speak louder than words.

As his activities listed above confirm, you are now gazing upon one of the head men at Penn Hi. We do not hesitate to state that Ernie has done as much as any other individual student to put our school on the map. Success was the fitting reward which crowned all his activities.
Ernie has only two weaknesses; his love for a certain make of small car and his desire to be with one of the members of the Junior class seven nights out of the week.
In nature Ernie is quiet and unassuming but a keen executive mind works behind this calm exterior.
