As part of its 170th Anniversary Celebration, the Metropolitan Cumberland A.M.E. Church held an Open House including an historical display during September 19-21, 2007.

Depicted here are several members of the Anniversary Community and contributors to the historical exhibition. They are posed in front of a black history exhibit prepared by Al Feldstein. The Open House visitor in the back, Robert Robison, is looking at one of the 1830 era Cumberland newspapers on display. Conspicuously absent is Kevin Woods who was in the sanctuary upstairs rehearsing for Sunday's church service and banquet.

From left to right are: Lianne Cofield, Sheila Younger, Pastor Alfred Deas, Jr., Geraldine Smith, Rita Sherills (standing), and Bettie Washington.
