Jean Beckward celebrates 30 years
27-year member of Historic Highlands Association of Realtors Million Dollar Club

June 5, 2004

CUMBERLAND –
Jean Beckward, a well-known real estate agent with the Historic Highlands Association of Realtors, is commemorating her 30th year in the real estate profession. In the real estate business since 1974, Beckward has been a dedicated and highly respected agent with many years of success, She is a 27-year member of the Million Dollar Club and for many years a multi-million dollar producer. Her high achievements are the result of continuing professional education, years of experience, knowledge and exceptional dedication to past and present clients and customers. She boasts a reputation based on principle, honesty and many years of devoted community service.

Prior to her real estate career, Beckward was a sales representative for World Book Encyclopedia and spent countless hours during her 20 years as an employee of the Cumberland City Parks and Recreation Department working with the youth of the area.

She has been affiliated with Long and Foster Realty for the last six years and was previously with Heritage Realtors. She is licensed in Maryland West Virginia and Pennsylvania and has earned her GRI (Graduate of the Real Estate Institute) designation as well as the CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) designation, of which only two out of every 100 licenses are issued nationwide.

"If you think about Jean's career in real estate, it spans many years of changes in our community," said Debbie Grimm, Long and Foster Realty's Cumberland office manager. "You might also think of the homes that she has sold, re-sold and even re-sold again years later, and how much they have changed in the course of time. Jean has been an icon in the real estate community throughout - she has maintained many designations and changes within the real estate profession itself and continues to succeed. Jean is a real asset to the real estate profession," said Grimm, "and particularly to our Long and Foster family. Congratulations, Jean, on a job well done and for many years to come."

A Cumberland native, Beckward resides on Fayette Street. She is the mother of two children, Gary and Debbie Beckward, and has five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. On May 21, 2016 Jean Beckward received the Allegany County NAACP Branch 7007 Lifetime Achievement Award.
