The Club assembled in regular session on Saturday evening Aug. 11 and was called to order by the President after which the minutes of previous meeting were read and adopted.
The President read letters to the Club from the following persons
Senator Hoar
“ Wm. B. Allison
“ O. H. Platt
“ J. R. Hawley
“ A. C. Lodge
Mark A. Hanna
James A. Guerry
Dr. Yarrow
Wm. F. Stone
And the Republican State Central Committee.
Mark A. Hanna, Wm. B. Allison, O. H. Platt and J. R. Hawley were elected as honorary members of the Club.

Major Pierce delivered an eloquent address that was thoroughly enjoyed by the Club he also called the attention of the Club to the fact that the rapid progress of the Club required the individual support of each member and asked for their hearty co operation in every conceivable way so that the Republican Club of Boonsboro may stand second to no one in the state of Maryland at the conclusion of his remarks Mr. George A. Davis in his usual attractive eloquence and convincing array of facts setting forth the advisability of each member of the Club giving to Major Pierce their assistance as an appreciation of what he has already done in behalf of the Club, his remarks were very instructive as well as entertaining and
