all 10,410 volumes which circulated 21,440 times, or an average of about twice for each book.

The sustained enthusiasm of the friends of the reading room in Boonsboro has continued to make that institution an increasing power in the community. Seven hundred and two books for adults, and two hundred and fifty-two for children were sent them, which their records show, were read two thousand eight hundred and five times. This does not include the circulation of books owned by the association in Boonsboro.

The Sunday School collection now numbers sixteen cases of thirty volumes each, which have been in constant demand throughout the year. No record is kept of the circulation of these books but all indications point to the conclusion that they are thoroughly used by the schools to which they are

In general, there has been a closer affiliation between the Central Library and the deposit stations. Requests for particular books have been more frequent, and books are continually reserved and mailed to the different stations.

Book Wagon.
The third year of the work of the book wagon in charge of Mr. Thomas shows a healthy increase: Three thousand five hundred and thirty-five books having been distributed by this medium, against two thousand seven hundred and .sixty- eight last year. It has been found advisable to change or consolidate some of the routes laid out and to increase the territory covered by others. There are now very few spots in the county so isolated that the wagon does not penetrate to them, and even during the harvesting season it was found quite worth while to send the wagon out. Where three years ago it would have been utterly disregarded, it was hailed this Summer as a not unwelcome interruption to the day's toil. In not every
