Flurshutz float

Allegany County, Maryland, Centennial Celebration, 1889: Parade Click on the MEDIA ITEMS below for more information

On account of the incessant rains Tuesday a number of floats which contained perishable goods did not take part in the parade, but the different firms made a creditable display of their goods on the end of the military display yesterday, the condition of the weather permitting. Among those in line were H U F Flurshutz, whose float was one of the handsomest and costliest displays ever exhibited in this city. Consisting of a complete set of beautiful shell back charts trimmed in silk tapestry and velvet plush. The designs were in the shape of shells, the various trimmings were of Monette, Capote, Modoc, Capucine, and Terra Cotta colors, all of which were tastefully arranged on the Queen Elizabeth and Louis XIV styles.
