Work in the marble quarry

Work in the marble quarry Click on the MEDIA ITEMS below for more information

Seven men work in the marble quarry while two stand on the lip of the hole, looking in. One man holds a spike or drill, another swings a sledge hammer. Two men work with a machine, possibly a steam drill as a hose is attached to it. Another man appears to be prying the marble slab up with a bar. Several large pieces of marble, with clear regular drill channels, rest on logs or skids to make it possible to hoist them up.
