Two tall anchor poles or derricks supported by guy ropes stand in a field. Each has a boom attached at the base of the pole. The boom is attached also by lines to a pulley block at the top of the derrick. Two small houses stand near, one with a chimney almost as tall as the derricks. These appear to house the steam hoists providing power to pull blocks from the quarry. They might also have powered the steam drills and mechanical channel tools, to cut through the larger blocks
