Elks Lodge, 1960s

South Potomac Click on the MEDIA ITEMS below for more information

The Elks Lodge appears in the bottom right of this photograph taken in the early 1960s. The marquee for Henry's Cinema shows that Summer and Smoke staring Geraldine Page was coming soon. Also listed is Raintree Country.

Above the marquee is the circular BPOE sign with an elk in the middle.

Further south on Potomac is the Maryland Theatre which was showing The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. A fire in 1974 severely damaged the front of the theatre where the lobby is now located, and the apartments in front of the theatre.
