Memoirs Of A Saturday Evening In A Bus Station

By Lee McCardell

Those Blue Ridge bus passengers who last week were reluctant to give up their seats to wounded soldiers may have been veterans in their own right—veterans of the summer Saturday afternoon battle for seats on Blue Ridge busses bound west from Baltimore.

The only bus company employee in sight is a redcap. You ask him:
"Where do I get the bus for Braddock Heights?"

Stick Around, Says Redcap

"Just stick around," he says. "It will be announced." ... (click on the PDF to read the rest of the story.)
