Hartle's 33rd degree Mason medal
Click on the MEDIA ITEMS below for more information
Major General Russell P. Hartle was invited “…to be Present at the Investiture of the Designates to the Rank and Decoration of KNIGHT COMMANDER OF THE COURT OF HONOUR Of the Ancient and Accepted Rite of Freemasonry for the Southern Jurisdiction of the United States…” on December 14, 1945 at the Scottish Rite Temple, in Wichita, Kansas. Hartle was to be awarded his 33rd Degree Rank of Freemasonry.
Receiving the 33rd Degree is the greatest honor that can be bestowed upon a Mason. It is not a rank that one can campaign or strive for. The rank can only be granted and installed through recognition form the Supreme Council, comprised of 33rd Degree Masons.
The Supreme Council awards the 33rd Degree as a way of honoring “outstanding and selfless” work performed in the rite or public life. Members are elected unanimously and are eligible to become honorary members of the Supreme Council.
This is the 33rd Degree Freemason ribbon and pendant presented to Russell Hartle.
