The Cushwa warehouse, near the confluence of the Conococheague and Potomac, Williamsport.

The photograph was given to the Western Maryland Room by Nelson Hause. It is unknown if that annotation on the photograph was written by Mr. Hause.

The annotation reads, left to right.
Car (of) lumber,
Shed that we tied the car too.
and to the right of Cushwa warehouse - this building left at 11 AM.

The back of the photograph reads:
At 11:30 am, 4 of us went with rope to tie it fast. The water was then up to the top of car and it was bobbing up and down some. Our rope was only long enough to reach the shed and before we could get more rope from Hagerstown the water was too high to get the end we fastened to the shed. The car started to go but the shed held it long enough to swing it around out of the current and then the shed collapsed but it saved the car of lumber.

From a collection of photographs given to the Western Maryland Room by Nelson Hause.
