December the 25th 1859
I am still teaching school at Locust Grove Academy.
A protracted meeting was held some weeks ago at Koonts Chaple two or three souls were converted.
A little book was given me, On Christmas day at night:
And given as a Christmas gift,
That I might lead her right,
2 Who gav't it me and has my heart,
While I hold hers as dear:
That we may live and never part,
But live in love and fear;
3d Unto our God who gave me her,
And I to her was given,
We’ll praise his name together here
And live with him in Heaven.
