On last monday evening Mr. Geo. Webster was down to see me, & I settled with him for my rent at Hyattstown.
Tuesday Mr. A. Maxwell came down on his way to Brookville on a mission of mercy as he terms it. He got back from Brookville after night in the rain, returned home next morning. Yesterday morning I went to Mr. Wards for some hay, broke my wagon & while repairing it down there night came on & I had to leave my wagon there, the hay open & today it has rained incesently from daybreak untill late this evening.

Tuesday Mar. 31st
I got the remainder of my hay home yesterday & commenced cleaning of some ground for a tobacco bed & this morning the snow was falling very fast. It stopped about 2 o'clock being about 8 in. deep.

Apr. 4th 1863
On last Wednesday I went to the sale of the property of Jacob Millar, deceased. The morning was very cold but the property sold very high. Thursday the snow all passed away. Yesterday was a fine day but cool. This morning the ground was frozen very hard. The wind blew very hard today & tonight we have a severe snow storm on hand.

April 11th 1863
Snow continued falling on last Saturday night, Apr. 5th & untill Sunday evening being about 6 or 7 in. deep although it was melting all the while. I put some tobacco seed in soak on yesterday a week & succeeded in getting one bed sown yesterday evening. The snow
