An Alarm

-The notorious rebel Moseby way reported to have crossed at Point of Rocks on Sunday last, and to be on his way to Washington County. The news reached this town Sunday night and caused considerable activity among the military, who were prepared to give him a warm reception. The report, like many others, proved to be a canard, but still we commend the vigilance of our soldiers, because it is quite likely that guerilla raids into Maryland will be undertaken by the rebels as a means of obtaining subsistence. It Is reported that IMBODEN, MOSEBY and WHITE are collecting a heavy force of guerillas in the Valley, and that a raid from them may be expected, but of course we cannot vouch for the truth of the report.
