RESUME OF COUNTY CAMPAIGN.
Compilication of Expenditures and Results of Suffrage Campaign In Garrett County.
A campaign may be rich in the propagation of suffrage ideas; it may be inspiring to the participants; but unless it increases the strength of the organization by enrolling members and gaining chairmen of election districts, its value is indefinite.
In the history of suffrage work in Maryland, the Garrett county hike breaks all records for cheapness and for practical results. The following facts will show what was done in Garrett and what can be done in any well-organized campaign:

Distance traveled (miles) ~~ 125
Number of meetings ~~ 21
Attendance at meetings ~~ 6102
Literature distributed (no. pieces) ~~. 6660
New members gained ~~ 820
Number of Suffrage News sold ~~ 303
Number of “hiker” postals sold ~ 100

Four women were found during the campaign who expressed a willingness to go on the Board of the local league and to work up an organization in their vicinity. It cost two cents to reach each person with suffrage arguments.
Until another county makes a new record, Garrett will hold the championship in campaigning, for in two weeks the hikers enrolled eight times the usual membership at a cost of $100 less than the usual expenditure.
Kitzmiller holds the record for number of members gained, 75 people having been enrolled as sympathizers. Crellin follows with 65, Friendsville with 54, Bittinger with 63 and Accident with 61.<
