Having heretofore sold a number of young Negroes for a term of years, I then reserved ten of the most valuable of the boys and six of the girls to be employed upon my own farms. Now that I can work those farms without them I will on Monday the 16th of January 1809, if fair, if not the next fair day, sell those boys and girls at public auction to the highest bidder. The boys who are from nine to fourteen years old until they are two and twenty and the girls who are from ten to fourteen years old until they are eighteen. I will also at the same time sell several good work horses. The sale will be at Mr. Beitzhoover’s Tavern in Hagerstown, and for cash only. It will commence at 12 o’clock.
