Body

A Runaway Negro in Custody.

On the 30th day of August last, was committed to my custody, as a Runaway, a Negro fellow, who calls himself Sam—says he belongs to Thomas McCubbin of George Town, Maryland—the said Negro is about 45 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, he has a scar on his right hand, he says was cut with a broad-axe, his left knee is somewhat stiff, occasioned by a hurt when a boy. His owner is hereby notified to come, prove his property, pay his gaol fee, and take him away.
