Eight Dollars Reward
RAN AWAY from the subscriber, living three miles and a half from Hagerstown, some time in October last, a Negro Man named Elie,not of a very black complexion, about 24 years old, low, broad shouldered and well built, speaks English and Dutch equally well, had on when he went off, a grey coloured woolen jacket, country made shirt, blue striped tow overalls, and old wool hat. He was since taken up and put into the jail of Bedford county, Pennsylvania, and, as a man was bringing him from thence, he made his escape from him at a place called the big crossings, on _____ in the second week of December. He then had on a white cloth coat with the skirts cut off. Whoever takes up and secures said negro so that the subscriber may get him again shall receive the above reward and reasonable charges if brought home.
