Clarence W. Hall [Frostburg]

FROSTBURG - Clarence William Hall, 69, of Frostburg, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at the WMHS-Braddock Campus.

Born May 2, 1939, in Frostburg he was the son of the late William and Georgiann (Edmondson) Hall of Frostburg.

Clarence attended Carver High School in Cumberland and then transferred and graduated from Beall High School in 1957.

He proudly served in the US Army from 1957 to 1960 as a Specialist E4. The majority of his service was spent in Germany. He retired after fulfilling a 30 year career from Westvaco. He was a Master Mason in the Potomac Lodge 41 in Keyser.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Emma Jo (Biggs) Hall; his daughter, Robin Radcliff and husband Mark, of Catonsville; his sons, Ltc. Lamar and Andrea Hall, of Alexandria, Va., and Gary and Holly Hall, of Inwood, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Brice, Felicia, Alec, Alyse, Mark, and Camryn; and his brother Frederick Hall, of Rochester, N.Y.; also a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Rebecca Vardiman officiating.

Inurnment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park.

Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Farrady Post 24.

Notes

Clarence W. Hall had attended Carver High School in Cumberland. He later transferred to Beall High School and became one of the early African-American students to graduate from Beall following integration of the county schools.
