Mary Elizabeth Thompson, 83, of 449 Pine Ave., died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999 in Clairton, Pa.
Born in Cumberland on July 14, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Charles William Broome and Jessie Elizabeth (Jones) Broome. She also was preceded by her husband Henry Blair Thompson. Mrs. Thompson was a member of McKendree Methodist Church on Paca Street, Cumberland. She had worked at the Maryland Theater. Surviving are two sisters, Genevieve Lewis, Clairton, and Miss Diane Broome, Clairton; one brother, Benjamin Broome, Harrisburg, Pa.; special friends, Mayola and Carter Banks, Cumberland; three brothers-in-law, James P. Thompson, Basil Thompson and Troy Thompson; two sisters-in-law, Farell Turner and Jessie Rodwell, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.. Services will be conducted there on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
