Ladies reading in the Boonsboro Reading Room. This was an outgrowth of the deposit station established there. Certain volumes which had belonged to Major Pierce were donated and a Library Association with Harvey S. Bomberger as President was formed.

(From 50th anniversary booklet)

This picture was probably taken in the Boonsboro Free Library and Reading Room, created when the Washington County Free Library and the Republican Club, started by Major Pierce in 1900, combined their resources. Major Pierce was the son-in-law of the Dahlgrens of South Mountain. The location in 1907 was 9 South Main Street, Boonsboro.

Notes

From Miss Chrissinger's album. The photo is also included in the 1908 Annual Report.
