FROSTBURG —Martha Mauzy’s high school teams weren’t unbeatable on the softball diamonds or soccer fields.

But they sure seemed to be.

Lauryn MacFawn will be graduating from Allegany High School in spring 2008. In her freshman year she finished second in the State's cross-country championships. She finished first in her sophomore year, won the title again in her junior year, and in her senior year, with a time of 19:37, she became a three-time Maryland High School Class 1A Girl's Cross-Country State Champion.

Kaitlynn Fratz, Garrett County's "Most Prolific Scorer"

Kaitlynn Fratz graduated from Northern High School in Garrett County in 2011. At this writing she has the distinction of being "the most prolific scorer in Garrett County high school basketball history."
This includes both boy's as well as girl's basketball, with records going back to 1953 with the opening and first graduating classes of both Northern and Southern Garrett County high schools.

Lauren Francillon of Southern High School in Garrett County and Micah Wormack of Allegany High School in Allegany County both graduated in 2016. Both had exceptionally fine and record-breaking careers and are going onto college to continue their education.
