Notes

In the 1877 Atlas of Washington County, S. F. Culbertson, was listed as a "Manufacturer and Dealer in Lumber." His location was shown as across the Conococheague from the rest of town. The Hagerstown Mail reported "Mr. S. Culbertson, on the west side of the Conococheague, who has a lumber yard there, lost all his lumber, amounting to from 40,000 to 60,000 feet" in the November, 1877 flood.
