Ran away from the subscriber living in Cumberland, on Thursday morning, the 31st of
January last, a black man
named
JERRY
about 25 years old, of a dark complexion, about 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, and tolerably well built. He is a tolerable good rough Carpenter —a good cook, and can do almost any kind of farming work. No particular body marks or scars recollected. He took with him a fur Hat, a drab cloth Roundabout, one pair of brown and one of blue cloth Pantaloons. No other clothing particularly recollected.

Runaways.

ON the 17tb ult. was committed to this Jail, a Negro Man who calls himself AARON ADAMS, says he belongs to Wm. R. Gordon, near Fredericksburg, Va. He is about 28 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, dark complexion. He had on when committed a blue cloth coat and striped cotton pantaloons. The middle finger of his right hand is shorter than the others, and he has a large cut on his right ankle.

JOHNSON, alias SANDY WELCOME, He is about 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, stout made, of a dark copper complexion, and about 32 years of age, had on a pair of dark mixed sattinett pants, black cloth coat and drab linsey over-coat, and says he belongs to Mias Grady of Snicker's Ferry, VA-

RUNAWAY

WAS committed to the jail of Washington county, on the 2d day of May, a blackman, who calls himself JAMES, he is about 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, very black no marks, had on when committed, a cotton cassimere coat, blue linsey mixed pantaloons, fur hat and an old pair of coarse shoes. The owner is requested to come forward, prove property, pay charges and take him away, otherwise he will be discharged according to law.
