20 Dollars Reward.

RAN AWAY from Col. Josias Clapham’s Iron Works in Loudon County, Virginia the 19th of October last, a Negro man named JOSEPH, of a yellow complexion, about five feet four inches high, _____ and well made, about 35 years of age. I expect he will endeavor to get to Pennsylvania, as he made an attempt to get there last August, and was brought from Washington County Jail in Maryland – he at that time passed by the name of Tom.

RUNAWAY.—
Was committed to the Jail of Washington County on Monday the 23d day of June inst., by Thos. E. Schleigh Esq., as a runaway, a Negro Man who calls himself GEORGE WILLIAMS. He is about twenty years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches high,
black, had on when committed, a straw hat and
linen frock coat and pants.

The owner of the above described Negro is
hereby notified to come forward, prove property,
pay charges and take him away, otherwise he
will be discharged according to Law.

Sheriff’s Sale.

A NEGRO MAN, who calls himself Jack, about 25 years of age, handsome, healthy, strong; he was committed to my care on the 20th of October last, as a runaway, and acknowledges himself to be a slave. He will be sold at public Vendue at two o’clock, on Saturday the 27th instant, at the Sheriff’s office, for his fees.

8 Dollars Reward.

RAN AWAY from the subscriber on Sunday the 5th instant a negro man named STEPHEN, about twenty years old, he had on a short dark blue cloth coat with high top metal buttons, a pair of Corduroy breeches – he also took with him an old drab coloured great coat – he plays on the fiddle, and it is probable he is harboured by the neighbourhood.

-Whoever takes up said fellow and brings him home or secures him so that I can get him, shall receive the above reward.

A Runaway Slave.

In the custody of the Sheriff of Washington County, A NEGRO Man who calls himself Moses, about 25 years of age, 5 feet 10 ½ inches high, very black, and handsome. Had on when committed a large brim wool hat, a mixed linsey coat, a striped linsey jacket with the stripes around his body, Ozniburg shirt and trowsers, and good shoes. Says he belongs to Samuel Fox of Fauquier County but ran from John Beaver, Shenandoah County, State of Virginia

Four Dollars Reward.

RAN AWAY from the subscriber on Monday the 8th instant, a Negro Boy named Abram, fifteen years of age, had on shirt and trowsers of tow linen, and an old hat, but probably his mother, who belongs to Mr. Knapp, in Hagerstown, will furnish him with other clothes, or perhaps endeavor to harbor him. Four Dollars Reward

RAN away from the subscriber, living about six miles from Hagerstown, near Gen. Sprigg’s on the 14th inst. a negro boy named CESAR, about sixteen years of age; had on when he went away a short brown coat, white cloth waistcoat with white round top buttons, tow linen shirt and trowsers, old shoes, and an old, high crowned felt hat.
Whoever takes up the said boy and confines him in any jail, shall receive the above reward and reasonable charges if brought home.
