In October 2020 Michele Martz, CPA, FACHE was named as the new president of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Western Maryland (UPMC Western Maryland.) Her appointment will become official effective January 1, 2021.
Martz has served in an executive capacity for 18 years with the Western Maryland Health System and now UPMC Western Maryland. Her current position is as senior vice-president and chief financial officer. Prior to that she served as vice-president of both Physician Enterprises and Financial Services.
Michele Martz is a West Virginia University graduate, lifelong resident of the area and volunteers in numerous civic and community endeavors.
